Ukel The Counterclockwise trying to show Ukel’s motion that dialectics within the reality filled with a pile of narratives. A tradition that fights for its existence today from the onslaught of modernism stream. As if it was the destiny of Ukel’s own movement. Which basically is Sundanese dance movement that turning the wrist counter-clockwise. This performance offers a perspective on building reality, by accommodating masculine and feminine elements. Both of these elemental characters are displayed in turn. The intention is not to clash with each other and compete. But they exert each other\’s advantages in order to counterclockwise current era.

BIO: Galih Mahara was born Ciamis westjava in Indonesia on March 15, 1988, Getting to know the world of art, especially dance since studying at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). The deepening of the dance is done with majored in dance and dance creation in Indonesian Arts Institute (ISBI) Bandung. Active in dance since 2007 at K.I.G Dance Community (UPI) Bandung, and participated in the Indonesian Artistic Dance Festival Research program (Arco Renz (Belgium), Joned Suryatmoko (INA), Nindityo Purnomo (INA), Daniel Kok (SINGAPURE). 24-hours dance for World Dance Day by Indonesia Arts Institution, Surakarta, Participating in Residency Class Contemporary with P7: 1ma Dance Company in Singapore with dance work \”NGOPI\” at the Drama Center BlackBox Singapore, and joining Masterclass And lecture performance Arco Renz at Goodman Art Center Singapure.
