Kate Stodart (Wurundjeri land, Melbourne, Australia): Ruminations

To ruminate is to replay a moment, a memory, an interaction, over and over and over again. To bring it to the forefront of your mind. But it becomes insidious; an involuntary action akin to a habit of thought. This work draws on my ruminations, which I etch into my skin, causing it to welt slightly and then disappear over time.
