Becoming Anima combines stop-motion looping with experimental approaches to movement and narrative. The subjects that will be animated perform an improvised movement sequence supported by the input of music, objects or spoken text. The outcome can then be processed using methods of digital collage superimposed to become a living piece of mixed-media animation.

BIO: We are two theatre makers based in Berlin. Our practice is multi-disciplinary, specialising in physical collage and ensemble devised work. We have worked as an artistic partnership for over 3 years now, performing internationally and working as facilitators in developing collaborative methods for performance. With a focus on performance for non-conventional settings in the city of Berlin. Recently we have been working on a series of live-improvised operas for Radio (Resonance FM), and interactive installations through digital platforms. Our artistic partnership is centred on non-hierarchical process that favours instinctual, embodied methods of creation. We often work with recycled materials, live music composition and mask-making, to develop a body of mixed-media interactive performance. ARTIST’S WEBSITE
